Learning Gaps Between Rich and Poor Kids are Decreasing

Despite widening income inequality, two new studies reveal that kids from all ends of the wealth spectrum are now entering schools with equivalent preparedness. The studies also show that racial achievement gaps are also smaller than they’ve been in the past. Across the board, parental involvement such as reading to their kids has also increased, as a result increasing achievement and preparednessĀ levels. Researchers agree that the results are surprising but promising.
